Bottom line

Start with the Micra, i10, and Sandero. Do not travel for the B-Max until the seller identifies the exact engine. Do not travel for the C4 Cactus until the wet timing-belt invoices prove the complete job was done correctly.

Ranked best to worst

Current five

What was rejected
Suspicious sellers

Facebook accounts only weeks old, thin Wallapop profiles, zero-history sellers, unclear ownership, and implausibly cheap late-model cars.

Excess mileage

Examples rejected include a 300,000 km Seat Leon, 278,000 km Tiguan, 240,000 km Megane, and 200,000 km Dodge Journey.

Wrong destination

Rubí, Barcelona, Palafolls, and most province-wide “Girona” ads. L’Escala cars were not good enough to justify the trip.

Mechanical risk

Unproven 1.0 EcoBoost and 1.2 PureTech wet-belt engines, warning signs, vague no-description ads, four-seat cars, and high-risk old luxury cars.

Expired inventory

The previously surfaced Ford Fiesta, Suzuki Swift, and Citroen C3 Coches.net links now redirect to the general search page.

Financing bait

Dealer ads without a clear cash price, transfer cost, physical address, and written warranty were not treated as credible finalists.

How this search was done

Facebook Marketplace was searched in the signed-in external Chrome session with Girona set to about 10 km and a €2,500–€7,000 price range. Wallapop was searched from the signed-in session with a 10 km radius, petrol, closest-first sorting, and recent inventory. Local dealers, Coches.net, AutoScout24, and other major Spanish inventory sources were checked separately.

Every finalist was opened individually. Seller history, description, photos, location, ITV, maintenance, mileage, price, and warranty language were reviewed where available. The cards show the short version; extra technical notes remain available for later if a seller replies.

Five-seat check: each model is normally homologated for five, but verify “S.1: 5” on the registration document and physically test all five seatbelts. Put the booster in the rear before agreeing to buy; narrow city cars can be legal but tight for three children.
